If you are looking for health information, services or support, these sites can help you with a range of issues, such as finding a local dentist, checking your symptoms, and learning more about a condition. These sites are reliable and informative and give you plenty that you can do to help you manage your health.

The key piece of advice is that you should always check with a health professional if you have any concerns about your health.

Carers UK
If you would in any way describe yourself as a Carer, this the website full of useful Help & Advice . By clicking on the Help & Advice tab, you will find some very useful links such as Quick guide to caring and Finding help where you live. See also the 5 essentials for carers information.

Disabled Living Foundation
The Your health section of the Disabled Living Foundations AskSARA online information service gives you advice about ideas and aids for coping with a range of physical and mental conditions.

This site gives you lists of community and voluntary categories; general lifestyle and health topics; and specific conditions. Your selection will lead you to a set of relevant websites which are checked regularly (and dated), giving a reliable way of accessing important national sites.

Living life to the full
You can get immediate advice on improving life skills for improved mental health (the front page even has a Panic Button!) or sign up for an 8-part course. It’s all free.

My Health Checker
Channel 4 s Embarrassing Bodies has produced 19 different online health checks. You can find out if you are at risk of developing a particular illness or condition, find out how to improve your health, and compare your results, anonymously, with other people. My Healthchecker is not a diagnostic but advises consulting a professional where appropriate.

NHS Choices
This website is the main route to information and services from the NHS. In the Health A-Z section , you will find immediate links with buttons to a comprehensive health encyclopaedia and to Medicines information. You can also use the NHS Direct symptom checker to get information to help you decide if medical attention is required. In the Health Services near you section , you can easily search for local GPs, hospitals, dentists and other services, using place name or postcode.

On this site you will find a Wellbeing section, where you can get the most recent updates on helping you enjoy a healthy lifestyle, as well as A-Zs for Conditions and Medicines. Videos and discussion forums are other useful aspects of this site.
