Find a Book
Finding a book sounds easy, and your local library will have an enormous selection for you to choose from fiction and non-fiction, adult and children's collections, best sellers and other popular material. But there are literally millions of items available via the UK Public Library network that you might not have thought about, including rare items, special interest books, or out of print items.
Items for loan in the UK's libraries can range large print or audio books, music scores or CDs and foreign language titles – there are items in 476 different languages in the catalogue!
That is where FABLibraries – Find A Book in Libraries - comes in. You can search the FABLibraries catalogue which contains over nine million records from UK public libraries to find what you are looking for. If what you want is not actually owned by your local library you can ask them to request the book on your behalf and have it sent to your local library for you to collect. Most libraries will need to make a charge for this service, and costs will vary.
Of course you can visit the library where you've tracked down the book!
